Brock lesnar was roaring into the title picture with a huge momentum. Whenever Lesnar showed up, the result was utter destruction.

1. Lesnar defeated Triple H in a STEEL CAGE match at EXTREME RULES 2013

2. Lesnar defeated CM Punk at SUMMER SLAM 2013

3. Lesnar defeated Big Show at ROYAL RUMBLE 2014

4. Lesnar defeated Undertaker at WRESTLEMANIA XXX

Being the only man to beat the undertaker's streak , Lesnar was made to look as an unstoppable wrestling machine heading into the match and the way he won it cemented his legacy as one of the most dangerous wrestlers in the WWE ever.

The next night after Summerslam the Authority presented a new WWE world heavyweight championship to lesnar officially retiring the World heavyweight championship 

Lesnar defended the WWE world heavyweight championship in a re-match against a fired up John Cena at Night of Champions. It looked like Cena was about to win the title but Seth rollins interfered in the match and saved the match for Lesnar. But then Rollins curb stomped Lesnar and attempted to cash in his MITB contract but was thwarted by Cena.

After winning his #1 contender's match against Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell at the HELL IN A CELL ppv, Cena had another title shot against Lesnar at the ROYAL RUMBLE. 

HHH later added Seth Rollins into the match since he helped to re instate the Authority back into power. 

In a match that turned out to be the best of the night and could be included in the top 500 matches of all time, Lesnar emerged as the victor eventhough breaking a rib in the process from a suicide dive from Seth rollins. Lesnar emerged out from nowhere when Rollins was about to win the title by a pheonix splash on Cena leaving the doctors who were attending to Lesnar during the match be-wildered and shocked.

The main problem with Lesnar being champion is that Brock's contractual obligations states he needs to work  for just 38 days a year and yet gets a big fat pay cheque of 5 million $, bigger than many superstars working an entire year. So the championship hasn't been defended much times since he's become the champion and many fans don't like it as well. 

Rollins fairly frustrated according, to the Miami Herald.

“I think it’s bull crap. I don’t appreciate it one bit. I’m 

sitting here with this contract biding my time. I want to be 

the WWE world heavyweight champion now. I don’t want 

to wait around to when he decides it’s cool to show up … I 

want him to be around so I can keep an eye on him and 

make sure that WWE world heavyweight championship is 

within eyeshot. That’s my goal and on the horizon for me. 

When he isn’t here or not around, it can be pretty 

frustrating.”

Since becoming  the WWE world heavyweight champion brock has 

showed up to a WWE event just 12 times and wrestled thrice as the

champion.

During the last week before Wrestlemania , Brock appeared on 

sports centre and revealed he has signed a new contract with the 

WWE possibly in his favour. 




At WRESTLEMANIA 31 , Brock lesnar was supposed to defend the title against Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns. Brock lesnar was in much control of the match as reigns took residence in suplex city (10 suplexes and 3 F-5 s on Roman reigns). But towards 5 minutes before the end of the match Rollins came in cashing his money in the bank contract and hitting the curb stomp on Reigns, pinning him to become the new WWE World heavyweight champion.

With a booking decision that needs much thinking, WWE relied on the top guy in the company to carry the torch for some time. Initial plans for Summer slam 2014 was Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar but since he got injured, the WWE title was decided in an 8 men Ladder match at the Money in the bank ppv. The authority wanted to the bring the title home ie, Randy Orton but it was John Cena who emerged out as the victor.

John Cena became a 15 time world champion by then and he successfully defended the title in a Fatal- 4 - way at Battleground 2014

John Cena was then offered to join the authority by HHH but he refused that and this infuriated them which led them to hire Paul Heyman's mercenary BROCK LESNAR who was fresh off a victory against the UNDERTAKER at WRESTLEMANIA XXX to put down Cena. 

John Cena would then go to lose against Lesnar at Summerslam in one of the vicious beat downs in the history of wrestling. Brock lesnar landed 16 german suplexes in that bout against Cena and Cena had a total offense of about 2 minutes in a 20 minute match.

2nd title holder - DANIEL BRYAN

The cinderella story of Daniel Bryan began at summerslam 2013 when he defeated John cena to become the new WWE champion. But that moment was short lived as Randy orton cashed in his Money in the bank after Bryan received a pedigree from Triple H who was the referee for his championship bout.

Bryan was screwed out from the title in a number of occasions from thereon until the Yes movement came into full force when bryan was not added in the Royal Rumble. After screwing him from the title in the Elimination chamber match by Corporate Kane, Yes movement took it into the social media and went against the WWE.

 WWE had no choice as to let Bryan in the main event. So Bryan went against HHH early on in the night of Wrestlemania (where the winner of the match would be added to the main event later on) and defeated Randy orton  and Batista to become the new WWE champion (beating ¾ of the members of Evolution on the same night). Later on that week he married his on and off screen girlfriend Brie Bella.

The night after Wrestlemania, The Authority made a match between Bryan and HHH for the WWE world heavyweight championship, but Orton , Batista and Kane attacked Bryan before the match even started. When HHH came down for picking the bones, the SHEILD appeared and attacked the Authority. The match never happened. JBL quoted "the fairytale continues..."

But things went downhill for Bryan as his father passed away a few days later. Then bryan had to defend his WWE world heavyweight championship against Kane in a  Extreme rules match at Extreme Rules ppv which Bryan successfully won but resulting a neck injury. As a result Bryan had to undergo 2 neck surgeries and was out Indefinetely. Stephanie gave an ultimatum to Bryan as he had to forfeit the title or his wife would be fired but Brie quit the WWE and later Bryan was stripped of the title.

Not to mention all other tag matches, fatal 4 ways. triple threats, house shows, fans were absolutely tired on seeing this match up. After an interference with the Wyatt family , Orton secured a win against John cena

Orton would then go on to defend his title at the elimination chamber 2014 ppv against Cena, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Christian and Caesaro. Leading to the ppv , Orton was made to face off against each of his opponents on  RAW and Smackdown in consecutive weeks in a 1-on-1 match ,in which  Orton only could beat christian on smackdown.

Randy Orton was not a favourite to win the match on the ppv but again an interference from the Wyatt family costing Cena and another interference by Kane costing Daniel Bryan the match. The aftermath of the match was pandemonium. Fans went viral online, as they wanted Daniel bryan to win the match. The shocked and disappointed faces of the audience on the ppv was an eerie sight to the wwe fans watching from Tv.  Batista won the Royal rumble and the winner of the chamber match would face him in the main event of Wrestlemania XXX.

Similar to Orton vs Cena, Fans were also sick and tired of Orton vs Batista and that being the main event agitated the fans even more. So the WWE booking team had no other alternative other than to change the main event by adding Bryan to the main event.

So the main event of Wrestlemania XXX was a triple threat match in would Randy Orton would lose his WWE world heavyweight championship.

Randy Orton was the first WWE world heavyweight champion of the modern era and he held the title from October 17,2013 to April 6, 2014 (WWE title) but he held the WWE heavyweight championship from December 15, 2013 to April 6, 2014
